Can I go to the dentist during the coronavirus outbreak?

Dentist visits during the COVID-19 crisis:

Dear Tecumseh Ridge Dental patients & broader Norman community,

As our community faces the continuously evolving developments surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, our team at Tecumseh Ridge Dental does everything to keep our patients and employees safe.

Medical facilities such as dental offices are considered essential businesses, and we are here to serve you for emergency services.

In addition to supporting any measure as recommended by the CDC and local health departments to protect our community, we are stepping up our already high sanitary and health standards. Moreover, there will be no wait times in our waiting area. All patients will be immediately placed in a treatment room.

While the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Oklahoma Dental Association (ODA) recommends to postpone routine or cosmetic procedures such as regular checkups, cleanings or veneers, we are here for your toothaches during this difficult time. Please don’t hesitate to call us at 405-85 SMILE (405-857-6453) or schedule online here.

IF YOU HAVE A TOOTHACHE OR NEED URGENT CARE DENTISTRY, YOU CAN GO TO THE DENTIST.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO SIT AT HOME AND SUFFER. PLEASE CALL US IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS.

Concentrating on emergency dental care will allow us to care for our emergency patients and alleviate the burden that dental emergencies would place on hospital emergency departments, while still allowing access to necessary and emergency dental services that will maintain the oral health of Oklahomans.

Moreover, we can schedule phone consultations to help you evaluate any dental related issues. Communication is vital during these times.

As dentists, hygienists, and staff, we are a part of the healthcare community and have a responsibility in the prevention and mitigation efforts during this outbreak. We will keep you updated as this situation evolves and new developments arise.

Please understand that we are also a small business and we have families and employees who rely on us. While you may elect to postpone elective procedures here are a few things you can do to support us:

  • Schedule new appointments/Get rescheduled appointments on the books
  • Provide a positive review on Google, Facebook or the Better Business Bureau.
  • Tell a friend about us and encourage them to schedule appointments.
  • Schedule a phone consultation with Dr. Wheatley to discuss future elective procedures.

We appreciate your support and trust in us.

Sincerely,

Dr. Andrew Wheatley & Team
